Rules for 3 on 3

Offsides

  • Player may not make a pass over the center red line to a teammate that has already crossed over the center red line into their offensive zone.

  • Player may carry the puck over the center red line to pass to a teammate already inside of the offensive zone.

  • If offsides penalty is committed the team committing the offsides will give possession of the puck to the other team and must tag up (all players over the red line)

  • Frozen Puck (covered by goalie)

  • Once the puck is frozen dead, the goalie will play the puck behind their defending goal line.

  • Offensive team (all players over the red line) must tag up before forechecking .

Face offs

  • Beginning of periods and goals.

Penalty

  • Players allowed 3 minor penalties, 3rd results in DQ from the game. 1 major penalty results in ejection from the game and reviewed for a permanent suspension.

  • Player committing penalty must sub with another player.

  • Player drawing penalty awarded penalty shot.

  • All other players on ice line up behind defensive goal line behind the shooter. Once shooter advances the puck, players are free to advance too.

  • 3 GOAL RULE - players are allowed max of 3 goals per game. 4th goal will not count and will result in a penalty. Begin play with a face off.

Clock

  • There will be two (2) 20-minute run time periods

  • 1-2 minute break between periods.

  • Periods may be cut short if there are delays to start due to player issues.

  • 5 minute warmup for first game.

  • TIMEOUT - each team has one (1) 30 second timeout per game.

  • Overtime: 3 minute, golden goal. Best of 3 shootout after than.

Scoring

Wins = 2 points | Loss = 0 points | OT Win = 2 points | OT Loss = 1 point

Followed by goal differential.
