Post Tournament Rankings
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME SUMMARY
Platinum Division ~ This division featured top talent in fast paced battles. The championship was between the top 2 ranked teams in the tourney - Just The Tip Ins and Church HC. Just The Tip Ins had a 1 goal lead heading into the 2nd period and extended the lead to 4 to 1 with a strong 2nd period performance. Church HC staged a comeback in the 3rd but was unable to make up for the 3 goal deficit....resulting in Just The Tips Ins being crowned 'Platinum Champions'
Gold Division ~ Riverhawks and Puckups entered the 2nd period tied 0-0. But a strong 2nd period by the Puckups was the difference in the game, as they were able to basket 2 biscuits while Riverhawks were not able to counter. WIth only a 2 goal deficit, Riverhawks were within reach and while they were able to bury their first goal of the game to make things interesting, it was not enough as Puckups had an answer with 1 of their own. The Gold Division Champ Title goes to Puckups.
Silver Division ~ This championship matchup between Strangeways and Ironclads was very tight throughout. Regulation time was not enough to declare a winner. The game ended in a tie with a 3v3 OT required to resolve the tie. Very quickly into the OT Strangeways were able to roof the game winning goal and edge out Ironclads becoming the Silver Division Champs.
Bronze Division ~ In what was a very close matchup, the Raging Teddy Bears and Richmond Continentals entered the 3rd period in a 2-2 tie. The Raging Teddy Bears were able to make it 3-2 midway into the 3rd. Toward the later stages of the game, the Richmond Continentals pulled their goalie for an extra attacker and began controlling the play. There were some close calls, but in the end Richmond Continentals came up short, rendering Raging Teddy Bears the Bronze Division Champions
Thanks all for attending and congrats '25 Champs
